wind lifts salty air
scent of the sea fills my hair --
fishing without care

pelican dives fast
shrimp on the hook was my last --
strips the bait I cast

turn with quick motion
see crab stealing sun lotion --
ocean commotion

summer breeze… scorching heat… splash of rain

laughing loud… giggling soft… summertime

Calm black lake water
Hidden world lurking below
Children stare at poles

Rapid moving water streams
forest song sung melody 
peacefulness within me.

a worm and hook plop
orange koi gather around
like nosy neighbors

Bright morn. Two boys fish.
Absorbed… Rain - Run - Rods - Lightning.
One boy heard the clap.

brown eyes smile 
under wide-brimmed hat -
tug on cane pole

fishing boat at dock
hearty laughter from the pub
splash!    moon breaks in two

     Ladders of twisted seaweed
          Beneath the blue sea.

Man in the moon is
Fishing for seasonal fish
From the harvest perch

(My grandson who lives with me said that he saw a man fish in Raul's "Reflections" picture.)

                                        ICE blanketing miles of lake
                                              drilling fishing holes

underway again
deep sea fishing with my dad
together again

Wind howling forlorn
thundering through the tree tops
branches crashing down



Snow swirling, whirling
coating all in pristine white
like diamonds glinting



Hear the lonely shrieks          
as seagulls twist and hover
over the fishing boats

Grandfather and Grandson

Grandfather, grandson
fishing together on lake
enjoying the day

shifting currents cold
         line vibrates, holds fast a catch
         nervous ripples fade

water flows
near surface bubbles --
old fishing hole

wiggling ripples
lure a bass to shore~
Daddy whistles

cubs getting hungry
salmon swimming up the stream
easy catch for bear

koi not to be caught
fisher breathed a sullen sigh
pond veiled in lilies

fisherman with beer
on his bass boat
near the sewage plant

When you are retired,
you'll be just an old man,
with a fishing pole.

fisherman
donating scales
with each hand shake

icicle hanging
crackeling in the sunlight
small bird gets the point

lake fully frozen
fishing hut sits all alone
moose looks in window

Sun kissed heads waiting
Sunbeams glisten like minnows ...
Dad's rod doesn't bend

she builds better butterfly's from the dust on rusting pipes
they fly in the starry sky while i cry
in a panic she paints them into a panoramic
but butterfly's recognize their own limited size
so they build their own chicken coop in my soup

an agile perch
jumps out of the fishing net
labour lost
