roan stallion grazed among mares

Nevada desert
Wild, kicking.  the Mustang horse
Answers to no one.

icy spurs on window panes
windy stars whipping by
appaloosa skies

hooves pounding the snow
   manes flying in Winter's wind ~
      mustangs on the hills

Twilight is coming
after munching on meadow
horses love to run

running free, wild, brave
tail streaming high in the wind
hoof pounding the earth

horses turn their haunch
to show their scorn for the storm 
and nature’s tantrum

allows man to think
he can command elegance
and tame the wild heart

Living lonely lives,
Cowboys are known for riding
Into the sunsets

    refined, graceful, free spirit
    and favourite of kings

Skeletal remains
naked to the elements
iced by winter's breath

The yawning giant
awakened by spring's nudging
unfurl sticky buds

The bustling leaves
an emerald factory
absorbing sunlight

Golden crispy leaves
flutter and carpet the earth

	fenceline hackberry’s 
	yellowed leaves drifting downward
	into Wild Horse Creek

Pegasus

White horned horse flies high;
He spreads his wings wide to fly,
Zeus is his captain.

bay mare stretches neck
  to gorge on vergeside grass -
  ignoring novice

loud organ music plays

siesta's plague

childhood dreams;
  beautiful white horse appears
  to inspire me through life

At Dead Horse Gap
Lightning strikes
like march flies.

a howl at night .. fear in sight 

a dream .. far from real

I am so hungry
I could eat an entire horse.
Or, I'll just eat you!

to pull the load through,
the lashing whip compels me,
not enthusiasm..!

Wet and shiny coat,
Extremities shake and quake;
Newborn foal’s first stand.

black horse mimics
zebra's every move
Can they outrun the sun?

mare is patient
   as farrier works speedily -
   collie plays in yard

A talented toad
hopped on a horse named Lily,
riveting the crowd!

No thoroughbred here,
When we lose our will to fight
We ride a stick horse.
